Food Network, you lie: PART II

This post was supposed to be epic and inspiring.

Something went wrong. . . like things often do in the kitchen.

My plan was to replicate this cake.

I've tried it once before.

This time I have decided to embrace reality and acknowledge the fact that I'm not a baker.

I did get close to success though, one layer turned out. If the first layer hadn't crumbled it would have turned out pretty good.

My weekend is starting early. yay. I'm headed to the big apple ... also known as SLC.

In the early nineties I was just a little girl. I looked like this....

pretty freaking cute if I may say so myself.

Anyway, since a young age I have loved Miss Celine Dion. I have a vivid memory of driving in the car with my dad and asking him to turn up the radio because this song was playing. From that day on It's All Coming Back To Me Now has been my favorite song of all time.

....you know just the best ever! I hear these songs and I'm so surprised that I know every word and that I'm able to sing along. I can go years without hearing one but when I do it all comes back to me. (pun intended)

It snowed today!!

Goodbye pretty orange sleeves. Goodbye light jackets and pretty cardigans. Goodbye crisp Autumn air.

and flip flops, i will miss you the most!!!

Uggs are Ugly

Contrary to popular believe Uggs did not originate Down Under. Nope, the US Army has been rocking the ugg boot for years.

Case in point:

I googled "Ugg Boots"...... nuff said.

Ingredients for a horribly bad day.

1 tsp of greasy hair. check

1 cup (actually 3 hours) of wasted time in the film developing lab. check

1 tbs of rain. check

Its only 2:29 and I think I can cross this day off as one of my worst days here in Logan.

Remember the Lime assignment? I was so excited to see the film. I went to the lab first thing this morning all excited to see my pictures. Went through the developing process which took me about 3 hours. Put my negative strip into the light and wallah.....nothing. Something went wrong.

Walking down the sidewalk feeling all depressed and looking at my feet. As I'm thinking about what a crap day the morning has turned into, I hear my bus go zooming past. Missed it. It then begins to rain.

None of this brings me to tears just angry feelings and curse words. Thirty minutes later I hop into my car for a little retail therapy hoping that will cheer me up. Nope no success. (never try on pants when feeling blue).

As I walk outside I notice the sun is out... yay my mood lightens. All of a sudden I get the urge to sneeze. Which happens every time I look at the sun. Being the polite person I am and not wanting to spray snot on innocent citizens. I sneeze into my arm. RED lipstick all over my white jacket. That's it! I'm done with this day.

Concern For The One.

In light of all the teen bullying going on around the country I thought I would revamp the blog.

Today I reread one of my favorite talks given by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, titled Concern for the One.

It's a great talk that reminds me of what needs to be done here on earth. Follow the link and read it.

Limes

I'm taking my very first photography class. A b&w film class and I'm loving it.

This weeks assignment was to take a whole roll (36 pictures) of a subject. That subject being any stationary object.

I chose limes because a lime can be altered and still be identifiable as a lime. Therefore I could be creative and switch up each picture while still keeping the same object.

I used my new Minolta film camera. It's actually very old but new to me and it's making me fall in love with film photography.

The only thing I don't love is waiting to see the images. So I decided to go back with my digital and recreate some of the images.

My best friends are getting married!!

I can't believe these two are getting married. I feel bad I didn't introduce them sooner (like five years ago...then again Sarah wouldn't have been old enough to date anyway).

They're perfect for each other and I'm thrilled Zach fell in love with such a great girl.

Just My Life right now

I hope this doesn't scream pathetic or desperate because that is not my intent. I just thought it was funny.... and it's my life right now. All of my brothers (7 total) are married/engaged/taken.

Which makes me miss the days when we were young. The campouts on the tramp. Wrestling matches in the backyard. and MarioKart for hours.

It's hard to except change and even harder to welcome it.

BUT

I've been blessed to have some of the most amazing women as sister in-laws (Autumn, KatieP, Michelle, Nikki, KatieC , and Sarah). They are great examples to me and they make it easier to look towards the future and look forward to the changes it brings.
